UKUKHANYA KALOU: Kalou was the first puppy born in the second litter. He was more refined than the other pups at first and was somewhat quiet. When he was about 6 weeks old he managed to fall into the air conditioning ducts below the house. Not knowing what exactly to do we called the fire department. It must have been a relatively slow day there because before we knew it three fire trucks roared up the driveway and young, good looking firemen were pouring out to help!
Shortly after this incident Peter and Camila Van Straten began coming over to look at the pups. Eventually they settled on the first born liver nosed male. Interestingly enough they named him Kalou after a famous soccer player…Kalous’ sire “Naka” had also been named after a famous soccer player. Both dogs grew to be handsome, athletic and muscular dogs.
